OCRアプリのKNFB Readerが日本語のベータテスターを募集しています。
iOS版とAndroid版のどちらでも参加することができます。

視覚障害ユーザでなくても参加することはできます。

また、日本語以外の言語でもベータテスターを募集しているようなので、もしお知り合いにその言語に詳しい人がいれば紹介してあげてください。

このアプリは、AFB, Amerian Foundation For The Blind、全米盲人協会が開発しているアプリなので、視覚障害ユーザのことを考慮して開発されています。
操作性に優れています。

機能的には連続撮影してからの連続認識処理ができるので、たとえば学生であれば教室で配布された資料をiPhoneに取り込んですぐに確認できたりするでしょう。
英語であれば展示ディスプレイに出力させて、すぐに展示で読めるというのはかなり便利だと思います。

日本で販売されているiPhoneの場合はシャッター音を消すことができないので、はたして教室内で活用できるかどうか、それについては気になります。

Greetings from the KNFB Reader team,

Once again, we are adding many more languages to KNFB Reader. In June of this year, the grand total of languages available to KNFB Reader users increased to nineteen. With your help we may be adding as many as thirteen in the near future. A lucky number indeed.

In this round of additions, there are several which have proven very challenging. Input from our valued beta testers will be needed to ensure the best functionality for these new languages. We need those familiar with the following languages to volunteer to beta test the next version of KNFB Reader.
